The second Christmas Charity dinner held by Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce and Lithuanian Embassy in the UK on the 11th of November in the Langham, London hotel received more than one hundred and forty guests. Evening event was attended by the president of H.E. Valdas Adamkus, President of the Republic of Lithuania and Mrs Alma Adamkiene, Founder of Alma Adamkiene Charity and Support Fund, also Lithuanian Ambassador in UK JK Oskaras and other honourable guests.
The foundation tasks and aims were presented by representative of the Alma Adamkiene Charity and support fund Tadas Bojarskas.
Charity Dinner Entertainment consisted of classical music pieces performed by the Guildhall School of Music and Drama this year's Gold Medal winner Ms Martyna Jatkauskaitė and the most outstanding Lithuanian tenor Mr Edgaras Montvidas, also Tango factory (accordionist Martynas Levickis and pianist Rimantas Vingras) played the performance to the public.
The main part of the evening was lottery and auction. Guests tried their luck to get VIP tickets to European Basketball Championship 2011 in Lithuania, 4 day rest in a 5 * Palanga hotel , exclusive African mask from Ivory Coast, football t-shirt with Lithuanian national football team’s signatures and other prizes. Prizes were generously donated by Langham hotel, Yolanta beauty salon, book shop Knygnesys, Lithuanian Beer, Morrning Due Bakery, Ronnie Scotts jazz club and other sponsors.
8100 pounds was collected on that special evening. Money donated by generous guests during the event went to Mrs Alma Adamkiene Charity and support fund, which was established to help children from the village
